Career Guidance

As part of the first project phase one, Zoreni Foundation partnered up with Young Achievers Rundu branch to organise a career guidance event at Ministry of Gender Hall, Rundu.  The youths from this two organization gathered round about 1500+ high school kids from the following schools, Rundu, DR Romanus Kamunoko and Kampungu, Noordgrens  and Elia M Neromba Senior secondary Schools and the community at large. While financial provision institution present were, Bank Windhoek, Nored, FNB Namibia to mention but a few. The event was meant for information sharing on which different organisation where gathered to provide key information in relation to financial schemes available to support students at tertiary, institution of high learning made provision of prospectus of courses they offers and ministry of Labour emphasised on the need to make the right choices when transitioning from high school to varsity.

Upon the event, the key note speaker Mr Ngato, made it clear the of why event of such nature should take place. According to him " young people must get quality career guidance to make informed decision to avoid taking wrong ones which might result in regrets in later stages in life. The uttermost importance of making the right choice leads to a happy working life and greater performance at work place." Ngato who is a re-known  young success entrepreneur in education industry owns a Ngato Vocational Training Centre (VTC), eluded the importance of enrolment at VTC by young people rather than engaging in antisocial activities.
The event was exceptional, as all the students who were present had a chance to ask the burning questions. The life skill teachers and the Learners' Representative Council (LRC) from different school embraced the information sharing session brought up by young people foundations. According to one of the LRC from a school we cannot disclose, said that she manage to convince all the teachers and learners who where objecting to attend the event. According to our observations the learners and public of Rundu were hungry about the information we brought to them. This one of the factor which will continue to encourage our team to fight towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goal 4  which is the pillar for Zoreni foundation.
